Despair

Despair is a negative effect in Mortal Kombat Mobile that strips positive effects from the afflicted character. When Despair lands, the target loses all positive effects, which can erase Shields, Regeneration, Strengthen, Speed, Luck, and other buffs that were keeping the fighter safe or strong. It is most valuable against teams that stack buffs before committing damage.

Despair can be applied by specific characters, equipment, and Kameos. Whether it only removes existing buffs on application, how long any related state lasts, and special exceptions depend on the source card. Use Applies to find confirmed sources. Resists lists cards that reduce or prevent Despair according to their text; Benefits from shows cards that gain value when Despair is in play. Do not assume every resistance entry is full immunity without reading the card description.
