The Krypt is one of the most important progression modes in MK Mobile because it gives you something most other modes do not: the ability to farm a special currency and then choose specific characters or equipment from a rotating Store.
It is also a mode where simply having high damage is not enough. Health carries from one fight to the next, defeated fighters stay knocked out until revived, your selected team is locked for the run, and poor resource management can turn an easy start into a failed run.
This guide covers the current Krypt system in MK Mobile 7.3, including the modern one-floor format, difficulty selection, Krypt Hearts, Keys, consumables, Store priorities and the Khaotic difficulty.
What is the Krypt?
The Krypt unlocks at Account Level 25.
Each run generates a map covered by fog. As you explore it, you reveal paths containing fights, tombstones, chests and other nodes. Your goal is not simply to reach the final boss as quickly as possible. Exploring the map can provide additional Hearts, consumables and other rewards that make the run more valuable.
Older guides may show several floors. That system is outdated. Since Update 6.1, every Krypt difficulty uses a single floor, with the size of that floor depending on the selected difficulty.
You receive two free Krypt entries per day. Additional runs require Krypt Keys.

Krypt difficulties
The Krypt originally launched with Normal, Hard and Elder difficulties. Update 6.3 later added Khaotic as an additional endgame difficulty.
The important rule is simple: farm the highest difficulty you can complete consistently, not the highest difficulty you can barely survive.
A harder run gives access to better farming potential, but that advantage disappears if you constantly spend Revive Stones, Health Stones and other valuable consumables just to reach the end.
For a developing account:
- Normal is a good starting point while you are still building your Gold roster.
- Hard becomes much more efficient once you have a dependable team and reasonable Equipment.
- Elder is better suited to developed rosters that can preserve Health across harder fights.
- Khaotic is endgame content and should not be treated as the default farming mode simply because it has the best potential rewards.
Update 7.3 also expanded Khaotic eligibility by allowing Stage II Ascended Gold characters to participate.
If you are unsure what your roster can handle, start lower. A completed Hard run is more useful than a failed Elder or Khaotic run.
Choose your team for the whole run
Once a Krypt run begins, your three fighters are locked into that run. You cannot simply replace one character after a bad battle.
The selected fighters are also unavailable for other activities until the Krypt run is finished.
Every Krypt event highlights certain characters that provide a bonus to the Krypt Hearts you earn. Those bonuses are useful, but they should not override common sense.
Do not force a weak bonus character into your team if doing so makes the run significantly less reliable.
A better rule is:
first build a team that can finish the run, then add as much Heart bonus as you can safely carry.
You can find ready-made compositions on the Best Krypt Teams page on MK Mobile Base.
What makes a good Krypt team?
Krypt teams need different qualities from pure boss-damage teams.
The strongest Krypt setups usually have several of the following:
- reliable basic attacks and block breaking;
- healing or another form of recovery;
- resurrection or protection from a fatal mistake;
- Power control;
- resistance to dangerous debuffs;
- fast kills without taking unnecessary damage;
- useful support passives that continue working while another fighter is active.
Because Health carries between battles, a character that wins slightly slower but finishes fights almost untouched may be more valuable than a glass-cannon attacker.
Pay attention to the fight preview before entering. Enemy characters, Equipment and modifiers are randomized, so the safest strategy can change from one node to the next.
If you want to compare your available fighters before building a team, use the MK Mobile Character Tier List.
Health, KO and Fatigue
Damage taken in a Krypt battle does not disappear after the victory. Your remaining Health carries into the next fight.
If a fighter reaches 0 Health, that character is knocked out and cannot fight again until revived.
This makes Health management one of the central mechanics of the mode.
Do not wait until your main damage dealer is almost dead before thinking about recovery. It is often cheaper to heal a valuable fighter early than to spend a Revive Stone after one mistake.
After completing a run, the characters used in that run become Fatigued and cannot immediately enter another Krypt run unless their Fatigue is removed.
That is one reason experienced Krypt players build more than one usable team instead of relying on the same three characters for every run.
Krypt consumables
Krypt consumables are designed specifically to help you survive and improve a run.
The core items include:
- Health Stones — restore lost Health.
- Revive Stones — return a knocked-out fighter to the run.
- Life Stones — increase maximum Health.
- Force Stones — increase damage.
- Invigorating Stones — remove Fatigue.
- Reroll Charms — replace an unfavorable Krypt battle with another one.
The best consumable is not always the strongest one. It is the one that prevents a run from collapsing.
For example, using a Reroll Charm against a particularly dangerous team or modifier can be more efficient than entering the fight, losing two fighters and spending several recovery items afterward.
Do not burn consumables automatically before every fight. Save them for situations where they materially improve your chance of completing the run.
Explore tombstones and chests
The exit boss is not the only reason to explore the map.
Tombstones provide Krypt Hearts, while chests can contain consumables and other rewards. Depending on the difficulty and chest quality, they may also provide Dragon Krystals.
This creates a trade-off between speed and full exploration. If your goal is maximum Hearts and drops, clearing useful nodes is generally better than rushing directly to the boss.
Random battle rewards
Krypt fights can also drop additional rewards beyond Hearts.
The exact probabilities depend on the type of encounter and difficulty. Community tracking has historically included drops such as characters, Equipment, Fusion Up cards and other resources.
These percentages are useful for understanding why harder Krypt runs can be more attractive, but they should never be treated as guaranteed rewards. A player can complete several runs with poor random drops and then suddenly receive a valuable Equipment card.
Khaotic received separate Dragon Krystal chest probabilities, and Update 6.3.1 specifically fixed its Rare and Epic chest DK chances after they incorrectly used Elder values.
That is another reason not to rely forever on an old Krypt probability chart without checking whether the game has changed.
Krypt Chances

How Krypt Hearts work
Krypt Hearts are the main currency of the mode.
You earn them during a run from battles, tombstones and other Krypt activities. Characters selected for the current Krypt event can increase your Heart multiplier.
Completing the run awards the full amount you earned.
If your entire team is defeated and you choose not to continue, or if you manually escape, you receive only part of the accumulated Hearts.
This is why finishing the run matters more than chasing every possible multiplier.
Krypt Store
The Krypt Store is the main reason to farm Hearts.
Its selection rotates between Krypt events and can contain:
- Diamond characters;
- Gold characters;
- Epic Equipment;
- Rare Equipment;
- Krypt consumables;
- other special Krypt offers.
Do not put a fixed weekly list into your farming strategy because it becomes outdated quickly. Instead, check the current Krypt rewards on MK Mobile Base before deciding how many Hearts you actually need that week.
What should you buy from the Krypt Store?
There is no universal purchase order because account progress matters, but a practical priority is:
- Exceptional or difficult-to-obtain Equipment that will improve several teams.
- A strong or rare Diamond that you specifically need.
- A character copy that reaches an important Fusion level.
- Useful Gold characters for developing accounts.
- Junk Boxes after the important Store purchases are complete.
Equipment deserves special attention. One good Equipment copy can immediately help multiple fighters, while a character may require several additional copies before becoming noticeably stronger.
That does not mean Equipment should always beat every character. If a rare top-tier character appears and provides major value even at low Fusion, that character can easily be the better purchase.
Use the Equipment Tier List and Character Tier List when comparing unfamiliar Store offers.
Krypt Junk Box
The Krypt Junk Box costs 100 Hearts and exists mainly as a place to spend Hearts when you no longer want or cannot afford the important characters and Equipment in the current Store.
It can return consumables, currencies and other random rewards, including Dragon Krystals.
The important point is that the Junk Box should usually not replace a guaranteed valuable Store purchase.
Current community advice in 2026 remains fairly consistent: if the Store contains Equipment or a character that meaningfully improves your account, buy the guaranteed item first. Junk Boxes become much more attractive when you have leftover Hearts or nothing useful remains in the Store.
Community-published Junk Box data lists possible Dragon Krystal outcomes ranging from 0 to 40 DK, alongside Souls, Koins, Krypt Keys, consumables, support and level-up cards, Equipment and Gold characters. The majority of openings do not award Dragon Krystals, so do not treat the box as a reliable DK farming method.

Should you spend leftover Hearts or keep them?
Krypt Hearts do not simply carry over as Hearts into the next Krypt event.
At the end of the event, unused Hearts are automatically converted into Krypt Keys.
Since Update 7.0, the conversion rate is 5000 Hearts per Krypt Key.
That gives you three practical choices near the end of an event:
- buy a character or Equipment item;
- spend leftover Hearts on Junk Boxes;
- intentionally leave enough Hearts for Key conversion if future Krypt runs are more valuable to you.
Small leftovers below the amount needed for another Key are generally better spent if you have a useful option available.
Krypt Keys can also be purchased for Souls. Since Update 7.1, the Krypt Store allows up to five Keys per Krypt season at 500 Souls each.
Do not buy Keys automatically. They are worthwhile only if you actually have the time and roster to turn the extra run into enough useful Hearts and rewards.
Farming Hearts efficiently
Efficient Krypt farming is mostly about reducing failed runs and wasted time.
Use your free entries
The two daily free runs are the foundation of Krypt progression. Even if you do not want to grind extra runs with Keys, consistently using the free attempts adds up over the event.
Pick the right difficulty
Do not judge efficiency only by Hearts per run.
A Hard run that you can clear quickly with almost no consumables can be better for your account than a long Elder run that drains Revive and Health Stones.
Use Heart bonus characters intelligently
Weekly bonus characters increase the value of a run, but your team still has to survive.
If a bonus fighter is weak, let your two strongest characters carry them. If adding the bonus makes the run unreliable, lower the multiplier.
Preserve Health
Avoid unnecessary damage even in fights that look easy. Krypt is an endurance mode, and small amounts of damage become important after several encounters.
Check opponents before fighting
Use the battle preview. Watch for resurrection, dangerous tag-in attacks, unblockable pressure, powerful Kameos and modifiers that interfere with your normal rotation.
Use Reroll Charms when they save more resources than they cost
There is no prize for defeating the worst possible matchup. If a reroll removes a team likely to consume several Revives, use it.
Is Khaotic Krypt worth farming?
Khaotic has the highest difficulty and better reward potential, but that does not automatically make it the best farming choice for every account.
It makes sense when:
- you can clear it consistently;
- your roster can handle dangerous modifiers and strong Equipment;
- you are not consuming an unreasonable number of recovery items;
- the additional reward potential matters more than the extra time and risk.
It does not make sense to move to Khaotic just because screenshots from other players show good drops.
Random rewards are still random. Even experienced players report runs with excellent drops and runs with very little beyond the guaranteed progression.
A stable Elder or Hard farming routine is completely valid if it gives your account better value per minute and consumes fewer resources.
Common Krypt mistakes
- Choosing difficulty based on ego instead of completion rate.
- Sacrificing a reliable team just to maximize the weekly Heart multiplier.
- Entering fights without checking enemy Equipment and modifiers.
- Saving Health Stones until a fighter is already dead.
- Spending Revive Stones on a run that is clearly beyond the account's current power.
- Rushing directly to the boss while ignoring valuable tombstones and chests.
- Buying Junk Boxes before guaranteed Store rewards you actually need.
- Forgetting that Hearts are converted at the end of the Krypt event.
- Using Krypt Keys simply because you own them rather than saving them for a week with better Store rewards or Heart bonuses.
What should you prioritize each Krypt week?
Start by opening the current Krypt page and deciding what you actually want from the Store.
Then estimate how many Hearts you need and select a difficulty your teams can farm consistently.
If you need team ideas, check the Best Krypt Teams. Compare Store characters with the Character Tier List and unfamiliar gear with the Equipment Tier List.
For most accounts, the best Krypt strategy is not maximum difficulty or maximum grinding. It is consistently turning free runs and carefully chosen Key runs into guaranteed characters and Equipment without wasting more resources than you gain.
Thank you for reading, and good luck with your MK Mobile account progression!
