Dragon Krystals are one of the most valuable currencies in MK Mobile. They are used for Character Summons, Tower Equipment Summons, Kameos and other rotating offers, so learning how to earn them consistently becomes increasingly important as your account develops.

Unlike Souls, there is no equivalent of repeating three 1-hour Quests all day for an unlimited stream of Dragon Krystals.
Dragon Krystal farming comes from combining several systems: Krypt, sellbacks, Realm Klash, Event Towers, Elder Challenges, Daily Trials, Kombat Pass rewards and temporary Free Rewards.
For newer accounts, the goal is to collect every reliable free source. For established accounts with many maxed cards, sellbacks eventually become one of the biggest sources.
Once you have earned them, use How to Spend Dragon Krystals in MK Mobile before opening random offers.
This guide is written for the current MK Mobile 7.4 environment.
| Source | Frequency | Best suited to |
|---|---|---|
| Krypt result | Daily | Players with Krypt access |
| Daily Trials | Daily | Eligible accounts |
| Krypt chests | Random during runs | Players with Krypt access |
| Sellbacks | Eligible duplicates | Mostly established accounts |
| Elder Challenges | On schedule | Strong enough accounts |
| Realm Klash | Seasonal | Mode participants |
| Event Towers | Selected milestones | Players able to complete them |
| WB Games Account | One time | Eligible accounts |
The short answer: where do Dragon Krystals come from?
The most important current sources are:
- Krypt runs;
- card and Equipment sellbacks;
- Realm Klash rewards;
- Event Tower completion rewards;
- Elder Challenges;
- Daily Trials;
- Kombat Pass progression;
- Free Rewards and temporary ad offers;
- special events, calendars and inbox rewards;
- WB Games Account linking.
The value of each source changes dramatically depending on the age of your account.
A beginner cannot farm large amounts through sellbacks because very few cards are Fusion X.
A veteran account may hit the daily sellback limit simply by playing Krypt and Towers.
Krypt is one of the best repeatable Dragon Krystal sources
For an account strong enough to clear Krypt consistently, Krypt is one of the most important places to farm Dragon Krystals.
Dragon Krystals can come from several parts of a run rather than one guaranteed fixed reward.
Possible sources include:
- Krypt chests;
- run completion rewards;
- Krypt badge-related rewards;
- duplicate maxed cards and Equipment that become sellbacks;
- the daily reward for sharing a Krypt result.
This makes Krypt particularly valuable for established accounts because one run can generate both direct Dragon Krystals and sellbacks.
Higher difficulties also give access to better reward opportunities, but that does not mean you should automatically play the hardest Krypt available.
A successful Hard or Elder run is better than repeatedly failing Khaotic.
Use the MK Mobile Krypt Guide to choose the right difficulty for your collection.
Share one Krypt result each day
A very easy source that players often forget is the Krypt result-sharing reward.
Players can currently claim 5 Dragon Krystals daily for sharing a Krypt result.
This does not require an exceptional run.
If you are already playing Krypt, make claiming the share reward part of your normal routine.
Five Krystals does not look impressive by itself, but repeated every day it becomes a meaningful source over time.
Open Krypt chests
Dragon Krystals can appear directly from Krypt chests.
The value of this source is naturally inconsistent because chest rewards are random.
Do not enter Krypt expecting a guaranteed number of Dragon Krystals from every run.
Instead, treat chest DK as one part of a larger reward package that also includes:
- Equipment;
- Fusion Up cards;
- Krypt Hearts;
- characters or Kameos from eligible rewards;
- consumables;
- sellbacks.
Khaotic Krypt can be particularly valuable for advanced accounts. Update 6.3.1 specifically fixed the Dragon Krystal drop chances from Rare and Epic chests in Khaotic difficulty after they had incorrectly used Elder values.
If your account cannot comfortably clear Khaotic, do not waste large amounts of consumables just to chase DK chest drops.
The Krypt Store sells Junk Boxes for 100 Hearts. Their rewards are random and can include Dragon Krystals, but high rewards are rare. Prioritize useful guaranteed Store purchases; see the Krypt Guide for details.
Sellbacks become extremely important later
When a character, Kameo or Equipment card has already reached its maximum applicable Fusion and you obtain another eligible copy, the duplicate can be converted through the sellback system.
For developed collections, this creates a completely different Dragon Krystal economy.
A new player sees another Gold copy as progression.
A veteran with that Gold character already at maximum Fusion receives a sellback instead.
As more of your collection reaches maximum Fusion, activities such as:
- Krypt;
- Challenges;
- Event Towers;
- Soul packs;
- Dragon Krystal packs;
- Realm Klash rewards
begin producing more duplicates and therefore more Dragon Krystals.
This is why veteran players can farm DK much faster than new accounts even while playing the same modes.
The current daily sellback limit is 60 Dragon Krystals
The normal 2026 sellback cap is currently 60 Dragon Krystals per day.
Once the sellback counter reaches 60, additional eligible sellbacks no longer provide more sellback DK until the counter resets. This limit applies to sellback DK, not direct rewards from other sources. Check the in-game counter and active promotions.
On an established account, watch the counter and postpone optional, duplicate-heavy pack openings after reaching the cap. The detailed routine appears later in this guide.
Special events can increase the sellback cap
The standard 60-DK limit is not always permanent during special promotions.
MK Mobile periodically runs events that temporarily increase the maximum.
During special events in 2026, the temporary double limit has increased the sellback maximum from 60 to 120 DK per day.
Similar events have appeared at other points during 2026.
When one is active, experienced players may deliberately save pack openings or farm harder to take advantage of the larger allowance.
Always read the inbox announcement and its end date.
Do not assume the doubled cap will last for the entire update.
How advanced accounts deliberately farm sellbacks
Once a collection contains many Fusion X characters and Equipment pieces, you can begin treating sellbacks as something you actively farm rather than something that happens accidentally.
The basic idea is:
- Play Krypt and Towers normally.
- Collect duplicates of maxed cards.
- Watch the daily DK sellback counter.
- If you are still below the cap late in the day, decide whether another activity is worth using to generate more duplicates.
Some veterans use extra Event Tower attempts or Soul packs because maxed cards from those rewards can become sellbacks.
This is an advanced resource conversion strategy.
It is not the same as free DK farming.
If you spend hundreds or thousands of Souls only to reach the 60-DK cap, you need to decide whether the resulting Dragon Krystals are actually worth the Souls for your account.
Do not copy veteran behavior on a newer account where the same packs would still provide useful Fusion instead of sellbacks.
Elder Challenges give Dragon Krystals
Character Challenges are no longer only a source of Gold characters and Souls.
The Elder difficulty includes Dragon Krystal rewards.
That makes weekly Challenges especially attractive for accounts capable of clearing Elder without excessive effort.
Even if the featured character is already Fusion X, completing the Challenge can still provide value through:
- direct Dragon Krystal rewards;
- the character sellback;
- Kameo progression on current Elder Challenge completion;
- Souls and other rewards.
An established account should therefore avoid dismissing a Challenge simply because the featured Gold character is already maxed.
The character itself may no longer be the main reward.
Complete the Daily Trials
The daily system provides another small but consistent Dragon Krystal source.
Players currently receive 1 Dragon Krystal for completing the required daily Trials.
One DK per day will never compete with an advanced Krypt run, but it requires very little effort compared with more intensive farming.
Over a month, small guaranteed sources matter.
This is especially important on newer accounts where you do not yet generate many sellbacks.
Treat Daily Trials as part of your basic account routine rather than something you only complete when the rewards look exciting.
Realm Klash gives Dragon Krystals
Realm Klash rewards Dragon Krystals through its competitive reward structure.
Update 7.1 specifically improved currency rewards across ranks, including:
- Souls;
- Blood Rubies;
- Dragon Krystals.
Those improvements apply to Split and Final Placement rewards.
You do not need to compete for the absolute top rank for the mode to contribute to your Dragon Krystal income.
Participate consistently and build the strongest rank that is realistic for your account.
A stronger collection naturally improves this source over time.
The current system is very different from the old Faction Wars mode, so use the modern Realm Klash Guide rather than old Faction Wars farming advice.
Event Towers are a major Dragon Krystal source
Dragon Krystals were introduced in Update 5.3 together with new Tower reward structures.
Many standard Event Towers award DK for completion.
Recent documented returning Tower structures have commonly used rewards such as:
- 10 Dragon Krystals for a Normal completion
- 20 Dragon Krystals for a Fatal completion
However, do not assume every Tower follows the same structure.
Special events can use different numbers of battles and different reward tables.
Always inspect the currently active Tower before calculating how many Krystals you expect to farm.
The real advantage of Towers is that repeated completions can simultaneously produce:
- Dragon Krystals;
- Diamond characters;
- Tower Equipment;
- sellbacks from maxed rewards.
That makes Tower farming increasingly valuable as the account becomes stronger.
Should you refresh Towers to farm Dragon Krystals?
Not purely for the direct DK reward.
Paid Event Tower refreshes cost Souls, so the value comes from the entire Tower reward cycle, not only the Krystals at the end.
Refreshes become attractive when additional attempts help you obtain:
- more Diamond completion rewards;
- Epic or Rare Tower Equipment;
- boss milestones;
- more completions before the event ends;
- additional sellbacks.
A player completing Fatal repeatedly may generate meaningful DK as part of the process.
A player stuck far below completion should not buy every refresh simply because the final reward contains Dragon Krystals.
Use the MK Mobile Tower Guide to evaluate the full reward structure.
Kombat Passes provide Dragon Krystals
Dragon Krystals were added to Kombat Pass progression in Update 5.3.
That means completing Trials and progressing through the current season can provide another source.
The exact amount and placement of the Krystals can change between seasons.
Do not copy a total from an old Kombat Pass and assume the current season is identical.
Open the current reward track and check:
- which DK rewards are available;
- whether they are on the Free, Premium or Premium+ path;
- how far you can realistically progress;
- which Trials are needed.
For a free-to-play player, any accessible DK rewards on the free progression track should be collected before the season ends.

Free Rewards can give Dragon Krystals
Update 7.2 expanded the Store's Free Rewards section with offers that reward Dragon Krystals.
These offers can include tasks outside normal MK Mobile gameplay and their availability may differ by:
- country;
- platform;
- account;
- advertiser;
- current event.
Because of this, they are impossible to include in one reliable daily farming calculation.
One player may see valuable offers while another sees almost nothing useful.
Some rewards require only claiming an offer or watching an ad; others require completing conditions, and some require spending real money. Not every Free Rewards or Offer Wall offer is free. Purchases are optional: check the terms before choosing an offer.
Read the conditions carefully before beginning an offer, especially if it requires reaching a milestone in another game or making a purchase.
Ads and temporary free reward events
Dragon Krystals can also appear through temporary ad campaigns and Free Rewards events.
These should not be treated as a permanent fixed amount.
MK Mobile regularly changes promotional rewards, and special periods can temporarily increase what is available.
If the current rewarded-ad chain shows Dragon Krystals, take advantage of it if you are comfortable watching the ads.
But do not build a guide around a claim such as “ads always give X DK every day.”
Check the live reward preview instead.
Link a WB Games Account for 150 Dragon Krystals
One of the easiest one-time rewards for an eligible account is linking your MK Mobile profile to the current WB Games Account system.
The official reward is:
150 Dragon Krystals
This is not recurring farming, but it is large enough that every eligible player should know about it.
It also protects the account through the current cloud account system.
Do not confuse this with the old WB Play system.
WB Play is the legacy account system. The current system is WB Games Account.
WB Games Support also lists a separate console-link reward for connecting Mortal Kombat 1 to MK Mobile through the same WB Games Account: 150 Dragon Krystals and one random MK1 character. This requires an eligible MK1 copy on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S or PC. The support article describes it separately from the standard WB Games Account reward, but if either reward does not appear, check the in-game link status and contact WB Games Support rather than assuming it can be claimed again.
Make sure you are linking the correct profile before confirming anything.
Special calendars and inbox rewards
Some Dragon Krystals arrive simply because an event is active.
Examples have included:
- anniversary rewards;
- Holiday Advent Calendars;
- update gifts;
- compensation;
- login calendars;
- temporary inbox promotions.
The Holiday Advent Calendar introduced with Update 6.1, for example, included Dragon Krystals among its possible daily gifts.
These rewards are not farmable on demand.
But missing them is still unnecessary lost currency.
During anniversaries and major updates, check the inbox and login calendar every day.
Newcomer Week can help a fresh account
Update 7.2 introduced a Newcomer Week specifically for brand-new players.
The exact reward structure is designed for early account progression and can change, so do not rely on an old screenshot for the current contents.
The important principle is simple:
if your new account has a newcomer calendar, claim every day.
New players have far fewer repeatable DK sources than veterans, so one-time and introductory rewards make a much larger difference early on.
Krypt or Towers — which is better for farming DK?
For most active established accounts:
Krypt offers more regular farming opportunities, subject to daily entries and available Keys.
You can regularly run it, open chests, claim the daily share reward and generate sellbacks.
Towers provide larger structured rewards but depend on:
- current event availability;
- attempt limits;
- your ability to finish;
- event duration.
The best approach is not choosing one.
Use both.
Krypt provides a continuous farming loop while Towers add completion DK, Equipment, Diamonds and additional sellbacks.
Sellbacks or direct rewards — which matter more?
For a new account, direct rewards matter more.
You should focus on:
- Daily Trials;
- Elder Challenges when possible;
- Realm Klash;
- Towers;
- Kombat Pass;
- Free Rewards;
- WB Games Account linking.
Your cards are still gaining Fusion, so most duplicates are valuable upgrades rather than sellbacks.
For an established account, the balance reverses.
Once many Gold characters, Diamonds, Kameos and Equipment cards are maxed, ordinary gameplay starts generating DK automatically through duplicates.
That is when hitting the 60-DK daily sellback cap becomes a realistic objective.
Do not waste maxed-card drops after hitting the cap
This is one of the most important habits for advanced accounts.
Imagine your sellback counter is already at 60/60.
You then open an Equipment Summon containing mostly Rare cards you already have at Fusion X.
Those duplicate cards could normally produce Dragon Krystals, but you have already exhausted the daily allowance.
If there is no urgent reason to open the pack immediately, waiting until the sellback counter resets can preserve more value.
The same logic applies when claiming optional packs or rewards that are highly likely to become sellbacks.
Manage the cap just like another resource.
Should you spend Souls to farm Dragon Krystals?
Sometimes — but only on established accounts.
Souls can indirectly generate Dragon Krystals through:
- Event Tower refreshes that produce maxed Equipment or characters;
- packs that contain cards already at Fusion X.
Veteran players sometimes use this deliberately to finish the daily DK sellback cap.
For a beginner, this logic is backwards.
If your Gold cards still need Fusion, Soul packs are helping your collection directly. You should not evaluate them only as DK generators.
Do not burn a scarce early-game currency trying to imitate a late-game farming strategy.
Should you spend Dragon Krystals to farm Dragon Krystals?
Usually not.
Opening DK packs can produce maxed cards that return part of their value as sellbacks, but you are still spending a premium currency to receive a smaller amount back.
The sellback is compensation for a duplicate.
It is not profit.
Open a Dragon Krystal pack because its characters, Equipment or Kameos are worth obtaining.
Treat any DK sellback as partial value recovery.
A practical Dragon Krystal routine for newer accounts
If your collection is still developing:
- Complete the Daily Trials.
- Play Krypt at the highest difficulty you can clear reliably.
- Claim the daily Krypt share reward.
- Complete Elder Challenge rewards when your roster allows it.
- Participate in Realm Klash.
- Use free Event Tower attempts and work toward completions.
- Progress through the current Kombat Pass.
- Check Free Rewards, inbox gifts and calendars.
- Link your profile to a WB Games Account for the one-time 150 DK reward.
- Save the Krystals until you have a clear spending target.
Do not worry about hitting the sellback limit.
At this stage, Fusion progress is usually more valuable than generating duplicates.
A practical routine for established accounts
If much of your collection is already maxed:
- Check the daily sellback counter.
- Run Krypt and claim the share reward.
- Use active Event Tower attempts.
- Complete Elder Challenges.
- Collect Realm Klash and Kombat Pass rewards.
- Let normal duplicates generate sellbacks.
- If the counter is still below the maximum late in the day, decide whether additional Tower attempts or Soul packs make sense.
- Stop opening sellback-heavy packs once the cap has been reached.
- Make the most of temporary 120-DK sellback events when they appear.
- Repeat the routine after the daily sellback cap resets.
This is where Dragon Krystal farming becomes much faster.
A mature collection naturally converts more rewards into premium currency.
Common Dragon Krystal farming mistakes
- Expecting one unlimited farming mode similar to 1-hour Soul Quests.
- Ignoring Krypt because the direct DK drops are random.
- Forgetting the daily Krypt share reward.
- Playing Khaotic Krypt when your team cannot finish it reliably.
- Ignoring Elder Challenges after the featured Gold reaches Fusion X.
- Forgetting Daily Trials because the reward is small.
- Not participating in Realm Klash.
- Assuming every Event Tower gives the same DK completion reward.
- Buying every Tower refresh only because the final reward includes Dragon Krystals.
- Missing Kombat Pass or calendar rewards before they expire.
- Ignoring the 150-DK WB Games Account reward.
- Opening many packs after already hitting the daily sellback cap.
- Spending Souls purely to generate DK sellbacks on a newer account.
- Treating pack sellbacks as profit rather than partial compensation for duplicates.
- Missing temporary double sellback-cap events.
What is the best way to farm Dragon Krystals?
For a newer account, there is no single dominant source.
Combine:
Krypt + Daily Trials + Elder Challenges + Realm Klash + Event Towers + Kombat Pass + free rewards.
For an established account, the answer increasingly becomes:
Krypt + sellbacks.
As more of your collection reaches maximum Fusion, almost every major game mode begins producing extra DK through duplicate rewards.
The goal is therefore not only to farm Dragon Krystals today.
Build an account that naturally generates more sellbacks tomorrow.
Play Krypt consistently, complete worthwhile Towers and Challenges, collect every guaranteed free reward and pay attention to the daily sellback counter.
Then save what you earn until a summon or Equipment offer actually improves your account.
For the second half of the strategy — deciding where those Krystals should go — use How to Spend Dragon Krystals in MK Mobile.
