Dragon Krystals are one of the most valuable currencies in MK Mobile. Unlike Koins or Souls, they give access to Summon Packs for characters, Equipment and Kameos that can significantly change how quickly an account progresses.
That also makes them easy to waste.
The best Dragon Krystal purchase is not always the pack with the newest Diamond character. What you should buy depends heavily on the age of your account, the strength of your current roster and what is actually stopping you from clearing harder content.
This guide explains how to spend Dragon Krystals efficiently in the current MK Mobile 7.3 environment.
The short answer: what should you spend Dragon Krystals on?
For most accounts, a practical priority looks like this:
- New account: use the special Beginner Summon offers and their Trial progression while they are available.
- Developing account: strengthen your character roster until you have reliable teams for Challenges, Towers, Krypt and other modes.
- Established account: put more Dragon Krystals into useful Tower Equipment Summon Packs.
- Targeted character hunting: open Character Summons when the featured character or overall pool has real value for your account.
- Kameos: spend heavily only when you already understand which Kameo you need and why.
- No useful offer available: save your Dragon Krystals.
The important word is progression. Spend on whatever removes the biggest limitation from your account.
What are Dragon Krystals?
Dragon Krystals were introduced as a premium progression currency used to acquire valuable characters and Equipment. Since then, the Dragon Krystal Store has expanded to include Character Summons, Equipment Summons, Kameo offers and other rotating purchases.
They can also be earned without spending real money.
Current sources include game modes and rewards such as:
- card sellbacks;
- Event Towers;
- Realm Klash rewards;
- Krypt rewards and Dragon Krystal chest drops;
- Kombat Pass progression;
- Free Rewards and special inbox rewards;
- selected events and other temporary rewards.
The daily Dragon Krystal sellback limit is currently 45.
New players should also make sure their profile is connected to the current WB Games Account system. Linking the MK Mobile profile to a WB Games Account grants 150 Dragon Krystals and protects game progress.

New players: Beginner Summons should come first
If you have just created an account and the special beginner Dragon Krystal offers are still available, they are usually the best starting point.
Current 2026 community advice is unusually consistent on this: new players are generally recommended to complete their beginner summons before worrying about normal rotating Dragon Krystal packs.
The reason is not simply the individual card odds.
Beginner offers help a new account build a usable collection quickly, and their associated Summon Pack Trial progression can add guaranteed rewards on top of the cards obtained from the packs.
That combination matters enormously on a fresh profile.
Your first goal is not to own one rare Diamond at Fusion 0. It is to create enough roster strength to participate in more modes and start earning resources consistently.
If your account still has its beginner offers, inspect:
- the available Beginner Summon Packs;
- their current contents;
- their probabilities;
- the Summon Pack Trial connected to your openings;
- the remaining Trial milestones.
Do not rely on screenshots from another account because newcomer offers and Trial progress may not be identical forever.
Do not judge a pack only by the featured Diamond
Once the beginner offers are gone, Dragon Krystal spending becomes much more account-dependent.
A common mistake is seeing a powerful Diamond on the pack artwork and immediately spending every saved Krystal trying to pull that one character.
Before opening a Character Summon, inspect the complete reward pool.
Ask yourself:
- Is the featured character actually useful for my account?
- Are the other possible Gold and Diamond pulls also useful?
- Do I already have many cards in the pool at maximum Fusion?
- Am I opening because the pack is good, or because I want one specific card?
- Does opening this pack advance a useful Summon Pack Trial?
A pack with one amazing character and many useless outcomes can be worse for progression than a pack containing several cards you would be happy to receive.
Use the MK Mobile Character Tier List when you are unfamiliar with the characters in a rotating summon.
Character Summons are more valuable early in progression
For a young account, characters remain essential.
You need enough roster depth for:
- Challenges;
- Krypt;
- Event Towers;
- Realm Klash;
- Survivor;
- different class and character requirements.
That means Character Summons can still provide excellent value while most pulls improve your collection.
A Gold fusion is not automatically a bad pull. A strong Gold character at high Fusion can carry a developing account much more effectively than another random Fusion 0 Diamond.
This changes as your collection grows.
Once many Gold characters are already Fusion X and your main teams are established, Character Summons start producing more sellbacks and fewer meaningful upgrades.
That is usually the point where Equipment becomes much more attractive.
Why Tower Equipment Summons become so valuable
For established accounts, current community advice often favors Tower Equipment Summon Packs over repeatedly chasing characters.
There is a good reason.
A character only improves that character or a specific team. Good Equipment can immediately strengthen many different fighters.
Tower gear can provide:
- massive Attack bonuses inside its Tower;
- large Health bonuses;
- block breaking;
- recovery;
- Power generation or reduced Power cost;
- defensive effects;
- resurrection;
- debuffs and control;
- Brutality or Friendship set effects.
More importantly, Tower Equipment can be the difference between reaching the top of a Fatal Tower and getting stuck on a difficult battle.
Completing harder Towers then generates more characters, Equipment and other resources, creating a progression loop.
If you already have reliable Gold and Diamond teams but keep failing difficult Tower fights, another random character may not solve your problem.
Better Equipment often will.

Should you always buy the current Tower Equipment pack?
No.
Tower Equipment Summons are powerful, but you should still inspect the actual set before spending.
Consider:
- how strong the Epic pieces are;
- how useful the Rare pieces are;
- whether the items work outside their Tower;
- whether you already own several copies;
- whether you are actively playing that Tower;
- whether more Fusion will help you clear a battle that currently blocks progression.
An Equipment pack with several strong pieces is much easier to justify than one where only a single Epic interests you.
The Equipment Tier List evaluates gear not only by rarity but also by versatility, low-Fusion usefulness and performance in Towers, Krypt and boss fights.
When are Featured Character Summons worth it?
Featured Character Summons make sense when the target is important enough to justify the risk.
Good reasons include:
- the featured fighter completes an important team;
- the fighter is already at a useful Fusion and another copy creates a meaningful upgrade;
- the character works well even at low Fusion;
- the complete pack pool is strong;
- the summon contributes to a valuable Trial milestone.
Bad reasoning is:
“This character is S tier, therefore I should spend everything.”
Even a top-tier character can be a poor immediate investment if your account already has strong teams but lacks Equipment.
Before chasing a character, compare them with your existing collection using the Character Tier List and Best Teams.
Do not ignore Summon Pack Trials
Summon Pack Trials were introduced in Update 6.0.
They track Summon Pack purchases and provide additional milestone rewards, including Gold and Diamond characters.
This means the value of a Dragon Krystal purchase is not always limited to what comes directly out of the pack.
Before opening a large number of Summon Packs:
- Open the Trials menu.
- Check the active Summon Pack Trial.
- Look at your current milestone progress.
- Check what reward the next milestone provides.
- Decide whether your available Dragon Krystals can realistically reach it.
Stopping just before an important guaranteed Trial reward can be inefficient.
On the other hand, do not open a bad pack solely because a Trial exists. The pack itself should still provide useful outcomes.
What about Kameo Summons?
Kameos are useful, but they are usually not the first place a developing account should spend large amounts of Dragon Krystals.
Players at Account Level 10 and above receive a free starter Kameo through the tutorial, and additional Kameos can be obtained through Dragon Krystal offers and other game systems.
For a new account, your main roster and Equipment generally affect progression more.
That is why recent beginner discussions commonly recommend delaying major Kameo spending until the account already has solid fighters.
There are exceptions.
Kameo investment can make sense if:
- you already have strong teams and Equipment;
- you use a particular Kameo constantly;
- you are building specifically for Krypt, Towers or another mode;
- a specialized Kameo summon contains several useful outcomes for you.
Update 7.2, for example, added new Dragon Krystal offers such as the Kameo Regen Summon.
That can be useful to the right account, but it is still a specialized purchase rather than a universal first priority.
Should you save Dragon Krystals?
Yes.
There is no requirement to spend Dragon Krystals simply because you have enough for one summon.
Saving is often the correct move when:
- the current character pool does not improve your account;
- the active Tower Equipment is weak for you;
- you are waiting for a specific Tower;
- you are waiting for a character that completes your team;
- your Summon Trial progress does not currently justify more openings.
Having 500 or 1000 Dragon Krystals available when an excellent rotation appears gives you far more control than opening every pack as soon as you reach its price.
How much should you spend on one character?
There is no safe number.
Summon Packs are probability-based. Spending more improves the number of attempts, but it does not guarantee that the featured random reward will appear unless a specific Trial or offer explicitly provides a guarantee.
Set a limit before you start opening.
For example:
“I am willing to spend 300 Dragon Krystals on this rotation. If I do not get the character, I stop.”
The exact limit depends on your resources, but deciding before opening prevents a common mistake: repeatedly spending more because the previous summons were unsuccessful.
Do not chase previous losses.
A simple spending plan by account stage
Brand-new account
Prioritize the special beginner summons and their useful Trial milestones.
Your goal is roster development, not collecting every newly released Diamond.
Then follow the progression steps in the Beginner Guide.
Developing account
Character Summons still have good value when most pulls can improve your collection.
Focus on building a few reliable teams rather than owning many unrelated Fusion 0 Diamonds.
Account with strong Gold teams
Start paying much more attention to Tower Equipment Summons.
Good gear can unlock harder Towers and improve the characters you already own.
Established account
Spend selectively.
Target:
- strong Tower Equipment rotations;
- exceptional featured characters;
- specific missing team pieces;
- Kameos that directly improve your main modes;
- useful Summon Trial milestones.
At this stage, saving Dragon Krystals is often better than spending on an average rotation.
Dragon Krystals and Krypt
Krypt is another reason not to judge progression only by Summon Packs.
The mode can provide Dragon Krystals from rewards and chests while also letting you farm Krypt Hearts for guaranteed characters and Equipment in the rotating Store.
A guaranteed Krypt character can sometimes be a much better way to obtain a specific fighter than trying to pull the same fighter randomly from a Dragon Krystal summon.
Before spending heavily trying to get a character, check the current Krypt rewards.

Common Dragon Krystal mistakes
- Spending every time you reach the price of one pack.
- Chasing a featured Diamond without checking the rest of the pool.
- Ignoring Beginner Summons on a new account.
- Ignoring Summon Pack Trial milestones.
- Continuing Character Summons after most Gold pulls have become sellbacks.
- Ignoring Tower Equipment even when Towers are the main progression barrier.
- Spending heavily on Kameos before building a usable primary roster.
- Assuming a high-tier character is automatically better value than strong Equipment.
- Continuing to chase a character after reaching the spending limit you originally set.
- Copying another player's spending strategy without considering the state of your own collection.
What is the best Dragon Krystal purchase?
There is no single pack that is permanently the best.
For a new player, the best value is usually the beginner summon system.
For a developing account, Character Summons can build the roster required to access and clear more content.
For an established account, Tower Equipment Summons often provide more progression than another low-Fusion character.
And when none of the current offers solve a real problem, the best purchase is no purchase at all.
Before spending, identify what currently stops your account from progressing. Then use the Character Tier List, Equipment Tier List and Best Teams to decide whether the current Dragon Krystal rotation actually fixes that weakness.
