Best Kameos in MK Mobile 2026 — What to Upgrade First

Home / Guides / Best Kameos in MK Mobile 2026 — What to Upgrade First

Kameos can completely change what an MK Mobile team is capable of. The right assist can remove dangerous debuffs with , trap an opponent with , stop healing with , prevent resurrection with or provide when keeping your team healthy matters.

That does not mean you should upgrade every Kameo you obtain.

Kameos have their own Levels, Fusions and attack upgrades, so spreading resources across dozens of cards can leave you with a large collection but very little usable support. A better approach is to develop one flexible Kameo first, then add specialists for the game modes and mechanics that actually give your account problems.

MK Mobile Base now has pages for all public Kameos. You can browse their attacks, effects, damage and cooldowns in the Kameos category, or compare all 164 current Kameos in the Kameo Tier List.

This guide is based on the current MK Mobile 7.3 environment.

How Kameos work

Kameos unlock at Account Level 10. Your first Kameo is free, with a choice between Klassic Scorpion and Klassic Sub-Zero.

A Kameo occupies a separate support slot and does not replace one of your three normal fighters. Kameos also do not use Equipment, and their progression is separate from the corresponding Character card.

Every Gold and Diamond character has a Kameo version.

There are two main Kameo attacks.

Kameo Attack 1 is activated manually. When the opponent is above 30% Health, it performs the Kameo's first attack. When the opponent falls below 30%, the same Kameo button can trigger its X-Ray or Fatal Blow once per match.

Kameo Attack 2 is defensive. It activates after a successful Perfect Block against an opponent's Special Attack.

The standard cooldowns begin at 40 seconds for Attack 1 and 60 seconds for Attack 2. Kameo Fusion also improves availability through the Haste stat.

This distinction is important when deciding what to upgrade. A fantastic effect on Attack 2 is much less valuable if you rarely perform Perfect Blocks, while an important effect on Attack 1 can be activated deliberately when you need it.

What should you upgrade first?

Do not begin with rarity.

Begin with the effect.

Your first serious Kameo investment should solve a problem that appears repeatedly across several modes. Effects such as , , and are easy to understand and can immediately change a difficult fight.

A practical upgrade order is:

  1. Choose one versatile Kameo you actually use.
  2. Upgrade the attack that provides its main useful effect.
  3. Increase Fusion when additional copies become available.
  4. Develop Attack 2 if its Perfect Block effect is valuable to your playstyle.
  5. Add specialist Kameos for healing, resurrection, bosses or difficult control matchups later.

The goal is not to own every Kameo immediately. The goal is to have a small group of assists that reliably adds something your three-character team does not already have.

Best overall Kameos to upgrade first

The current MK Mobile Kameo Tier List places six Kameos in the Overall S tier:

These Kameos do different jobs, so S tier does not mean they are interchangeable.

1. Injustice 2 Raiden — best general-purpose starting point

Raiden - Injustice 2

Injustice 2 Raiden Kameo is one of the easiest top Kameos to recommend because all three parts of his kit provide useful support.

His Attack 1 applies , allowing you to deliberately remove negative effects when they interfere with your strategy.

Attack 2 applies after a Perfect Block, while his Finisher provides .

This gives Injustice 2 Raiden three different forms of utility instead of making the card dependent on one narrow matchup.

Upgrade priority

Upgrade Attack 1 first if you primarily want Injustice 2 Raiden for reliable . A manually activated cleanse is valuable because you control when it happens instead of waiting for a defensive trigger.

Attack 2 becomes a stronger investment when you consistently use Perfect Block and need to keep the correct opponent active.

For a first serious Kameo investment, this combination of cleansing, target control and makes Raiden one of the safest choices.

2. Darkest Knight Noob Saibot — Snare, Death Mark and recovery

Noob Saibot - Darkest Knight

Darkest Knight Noob Saibot Kameo has one of the most complete combinations of effects among current Kameos.

His kit provides:

  • Attack 1 —
  • Attack 2 —
  • Finisher —

helps keep the correct target active. becomes valuable against resurrection mechanics because it prevents the marked opponent from returning and also increases damage taken. gives the Kameo additional value when recovering Health matters.

Upgrade priority

If target control is your main need, start with Attack 1 and its .

If resurrection is the specific problem you need to solve, Attack 2 and become much more important.

His Finisher's adds another role, but remember that the Finisher is conditional and can only be used once per match.

Darkest Knight Noob Saibot is powerful because one Kameo can cover target control, resurrection denial and recovery.

3. Klassic Jax Briggs — flexible control

Jax Briggs - Klassic

Klassic Jax Briggs Kameo combines three useful tools:

  • Attack 1 —
  • Attack 2 —
  • Finisher —

prevents the current opponent from tagging out, while prevents Special Attacks.

That makes Klassic Jax a practical control Kameo rather than a pure damage assist.

Upgrade priority

Attack 1 is the safer first investment because can be activated deliberately.

Attack 2 becomes excellent when you are comfortable triggering Perfect Blocks and want as a defensive answer to dangerous Special Attacks.

The Finisher's gives the card additional offensive utility.

4. Black Dragon Kabal — control with offensive tempo

Kabal - Black Dragon

Black Dragon Kabal Kameo gives you on Attack 1, on Attack 2 and on the Finisher.

His most dependable general-purpose tool is , because Attack 1 can be used manually to keep an important opponent from tagging out.

Attack 2 provides after the defensive trigger, giving Kabal a more offensive follow-up than Kameos whose counterattack applies another debuff.

Upgrade priority

Start with Attack 1 if is the reason you are using Black Dragon Kabal.

Upgrade Attack 2 when your team benefits significantly from and you can trigger Perfect Blocks consistently.

His Finisher provides , giving him another way to support an aggressive rotation.

Kabal is a good example of why Kameo choice should depend on the team. A lineup that needs cleansing may prefer Injustice 2 Raiden, while a lineup that already has debuff protection may prefer Kabal's control and offensive tempo.

5. Kombat Cup Cassie Cage — one of the best Gold Kameos

Cassie Cage - Kombat Cup

Kombat Cup Cassie Cage Kameo is particularly attractive because she is Gold but still sits in the Overall S tier.

Her kit provides:

  • Attack 1 —
  • Attack 2 —
  • Finisher —

removes part of the opponent's Power and is immediately useful against enemies preparing a dangerous Special Attack.

gives Cassie a very different defensive use after a successful Perfect Block.

Upgrade priority

For most accounts, upgrade Attack 1 first.

A manually triggered is easy to use and can immediately prevent a dangerous Special Attack.

The second attack becomes more interesting once you consistently use Perfect Block and can take advantage of .

Kombat Cup Cassie Cage is also an important reminder that a useful Gold Kameo can be more practical than an underdeveloped Diamond Kameo.

6. Lizard Jade — simple and effective control

Jade - Lizard

Lizard Jade Kameo has a very straightforward control kit:

  • Attack 1 —
  • Attack 2 —
  • Finisher —

That simplicity is useful.

gives deliberate target control. prevents the affected opponent from attacking or blocking for a short period, creating another opening after a Perfect Block.

The Finisher adds , which improves Critical Hit chance.

Upgrade priority

Attack 1 is the most reliable place to start because is manually available.

Then improve Attack 2 if is useful against the content you are currently playing.

Lizard Jade is particularly attractive in fights where controlling which opponent remains active matters more than simply adding more raw damage.

The best Kameo depends on the mode

The Overall ranking is useful when you want one flexible Kameo, but the best choice changes significantly depending on the fight.

This is why the Kameo Tier List has separate rankings for Overall, Krypt, Towers, Bosses and Realm Klash.

A Kameo that is only B overall can become one of the strongest choices for a specific job.

Strong control option: Kold War Sub-Zero

Kold War Sub-Zero Kameo is an excellent example of a specialist whose value increases in control-heavy fights.

His kit is:

  • Attack 1 —
  • Attack 2 —
  • Finisher —

temporarily prevents the opponent from taking actions, so having access to it on both regular Kameo attacks gives Kold War Sub-Zero a very clear control identity.

His Finisher adds , reducing incoming damage while the buff is active.

The important limitation is immunity. If the opponent cannot be , the main reason to select this Kameo disappears.

Best anti-heal specialist: Fire God Liu Kang

Fire God Liu Kang Kameo is not an Overall S-tier Kameo, but he becomes much more valuable when healing is the mechanic stopping your progress.

His Attack 1 applies .

prevents the affected character from being healed, making it one of the clearest answers to healing-heavy opponents when the effect is allowed.

His other two attacks apply , which deals damage and drains Power over time on opponents that are vulnerable to it.

Upgrade priority

If you are building Fire God Liu Kang specifically as an anti-healing tool, Attack 1 is the priority.

The reason to invest is the manually activated , not the fact that he is a Diamond Kameo.

This is exactly why mode-specific ratings matter. A specialist can be more valuable than an Overall S-tier card when its effect directly counters the fight.

Recovery option: Nimble Reptile

Nimble Reptile Kameo provides a different type of support.

His Attack 1 applies , his Attack 2 grants and his Finisher provides .

deals damage over time and reduces the effectiveness of healing, while restores Health over time.

This gives Nimble Reptile a mixture of offensive pressure and recovery.

Upgrade priority

Do not upgrade him only because he has healing.

The Finisher is conditional, so is not something you can activate repeatedly whenever you want.

Choose Nimble Reptile when his combination of and recovery actually fits the content you play.

Attack 1 or Attack 2 — which should you upgrade first?

For most players, Attack 1 is the safer first investment.

The reason is simple: you control the trigger.

If you selected a Kameo specifically for , , , , or another Attack 1 effect, upgrading that attack directly improves the reason you selected the card.

Attack 2 depends on Perfect Block.

That does not make Attack 2 weak. from Klassic Jax, from Lizard Jade and from Kombat Cup Cassie Cage can all be excellent.

But they are only valuable when you can activate them consistently.

Learn the Perfect Block timing first, test the Kameo in real fights and then decide whether Attack 2 deserves the same investment as Attack 1.

Fusion matters because Kameos are limited by cooldowns

Kameo Fusion is not only another number on the card.

Higher Fusion improves the Kameo's Haste, allowing its attacks to become available more frequently.

That matters more during long fights, where using the same useful effect several times can be more valuable than one slightly stronger hit.

A well-developed Gold Kameo with a useful effect can therefore be more practical than a famous Diamond Kameo that your account has barely developed.

This is another reason to compare your real collection instead of blindly copying the top of the Kameo Tier List.

The normal Character and Kameo are separate cards

Do not judge a Kameo from the normal version of that character.

The fighter and its Kameo have separate progression and separate combat functions. A strong normal character can have a situational Kameo, while a character you rarely use as a fighter may still have an excellent Kameo kit.

A fighter's passive does not automatically transfer to its Kameo.

When evaluating a Kameo, check:

  • Attack 1 effect;
  • Attack 2 effect;
  • Finisher effect;
  • attack upgrade levels;
  • Fusion;
  • Haste;
  • cooldowns.

The easiest way to do that is to open the actual card in the Kameos database.

Build a toolbox instead of upgrading everything

A developed Kameo collection should give you access to different answers rather than twenty cards that all perform the same job.

Useful effects to cover include:

Removes negative effects from your character and can restore a rotation that was stopped by a debuff.

Prevents the affected opponent from tagging out.

Removes part of the opponent's Power.

Prevents the affected opponent from using Special Attacks.

Prevents healing and becomes especially valuable when recovery is the mechanic you need to counter.

Prevents resurrection and increases damage taken by the affected target.

Restores Health over time.

and
Create control windows when the opponent is not immune.

and
Provide defensive value instead of additional direct control.

and
Add damage-over-time pressure against opponents who are vulnerable to those effects.

and
Provide offensive utility through Special Attack resources or increased Critical Hit chance.

You do not need all of these immediately.

Add them as your account begins encountering fights where the missing mechanic becomes a real limitation.

A practical Kameo upgrade roadmap

If your Kameo collection is still small, start with one flexible general-purpose option.

Good first candidates from the current Overall S tier are Injustice 2 Raiden, Darkest Knight Noob Saibot, Klassic Jax Briggs, Black Dragon Kabal, Kombat Cup Cassie Cage and Lizard Jade.

Your second developed Kameo should cover something the first one cannot do.

If your first card provides , you might add Kombat Cup Cassie Cage for , Fire God Liu Kang for , or Darkest Knight Noob Saibot for .

Your third Kameo can then become a specialist: Kold War Sub-Zero for , Nimble Reptile for and , or another card whose effects directly solve the fights your account struggles with.

After that, expand based on actual matchups rather than rarity.

Common Kameo upgrade mistakes

  • Upgrading every new Kameo instead of finishing a few useful cards.
  • Choosing only by Diamond or Gold rarity.
  • Ignoring the effect on Attack 1.
  • Spending heavily on Attack 2 without learning Perfect Block.
  • Assuming the normal character's passive also works for the Kameo.
  • Using , or another control effect without checking immunity.
  • Choosing recovery when the real problem is enemy control.
  • Building several Kameos with almost identical roles while missing important effects such as , or .
  • Ignoring Fusion and cooldown availability.
  • Treating the Overall tier as more important than the actual matchup.

Which Kameo should you upgrade first?

If you want one general recommendation, start with the strongest versatile Kameo you already own at a useful Fusion.

Injustice 2 Raiden is an excellent general-purpose choice because , and cover several different situations.

Darkest Knight Noob Saibot is another premium option with , and .

Among Gold Kameos, Kombat Cup Cassie Cage and Lizard Jade are particularly attractive because their utility remains relevant even when the rest of your account becomes stronger.

After that, stop looking for one universal best Kameo.

Build specialists.

Use Fire God Liu Kang when solves a healing problem, Kold War Sub-Zero when is useful, and a Kameo with when preserving Health is the real priority.

The best Kameo is the one that adds the mechanic your three-character team is currently missing.
