Event Towers are one of the main progression systems in MK Mobile. They combine difficult fights, unique modifiers, powerful bosses and some of the most valuable Equipment in the game.
They are also one of the first modes where simply using your three strongest characters stops being enough. As you climb higher, team composition, Equipment, control, resistances and understanding the battle modifier become increasingly important.
This guide covers the current Event Tower system in MK Mobile 7.3: Normal and Fatal Towers, attempts, rewards, Tower Equipment, boss strategy and when spending Souls on additional attempts makes sense.
This guide is specifically about Event Towers. Shao Kahn's Tower and the Klash Towers inside Realm Klash are separate modes with different mechanics.
What are Event Towers?
Event Towers are limited-time single-player events built around a specific theme.
Most traditional Event Towers contain up to 200 battles and appear in two versions:
- Normal / Regular Tower
- Fatal Tower
Normal is designed to be more accessible.
Fatal uses stronger opponents, more difficult modifiers and tougher boss battles, but usually offers better milestone and completion rewards.
Not every Event Tower follows exactly the same structure. For example, Tower of Time was introduced as a special 50-battle Tower without a Fatal version.
You can browse existing Normal and Fatal Towers and their actual reward pools in the MK Mobile Towers section.

How Tower attempts work in 2026
The attempt system changed in 2026.
For current standard Event Towers, the daily structure is:
- 5 initial attempts;
- 2 additional refreshes by watching ads;
- up to 5 paid refreshes;
- each paid refresh costs 40 Souls;
- each refresh gives another 5 attempts.
Using everything gives a maximum of 40 attempts per day for one Tower.
All paid refreshes therefore cost up to 200 Souls per Tower per day.
If both a Normal and Fatal Tower are active and you fully refresh both, the total becomes 400 Souls per day.
The current system uses a 24-hour refresh window rather than the old 12-hour split.
Some special events can still use different rules, so always check the attempt counter directly in the game.
Should you spend Souls on Tower refreshes?
It depends on whether additional attempts can realistically produce meaningful progression.
For an established account that can complete the Tower, refreshes are often one of the strongest uses of Souls.
More attempts mean:
- faster Tower completions;
- more guaranteed milestone rewards;
- more completion Diamonds and Equipment;
- more chances at random Tower Equipment;
- more standard participation rewards.
At the full 40 attempts per day, a 200-battle Tower theoretically takes five days if every fight is completed on the first attempt.
In practice, difficult bosses and failed battles increase that number.
For a new account, the decision is different.
If you are already completely stuck at a battle with no realistic solution, spending 200 Souls every day just to lose additional attempts is usually unnecessary.
Use the free and ad attempts, keep improving your roster and spend Souls on refreshes when you can either continue progressing or when the participation rewards themselves are worth the cost to you.
A good rule is:
refresh a Tower because you have a progression goal, not simply because the refresh button exists.
You can still receive rewards when you lose
One of the most useful features of Event Towers is the standard participation reward.
Current Tower reward tables include standard rewards even when the battle is lost.
These rewards can include things such as:
- Koins;
- Souls;
- upgrade cards;
- support cards;
- ordinary Equipment;
- Tower Equipment;
- other rewards depending on the Tower.
This means a new player should not completely ignore Towers simply because floor 200 is impossible.
Even failed attempts can slowly improve the account.
However, boss battles require more care. If a boss has healing mechanics, a bad attempt can allow them to recover Health and undo part of your previous progress.
Normal or Fatal — which Tower should you prioritize?
If your account can comfortably play both, play both.
If Souls or time are limited, choose based on your roster.
Prioritize Normal if:
- this is your first serious Event Tower;
- your strongest characters are still mostly Gold;
- you have little Equipment for the current Tower;
- Fatal progression has stopped completely;
- you want a realistic path to repeated completions.
Normal Towers can still provide valuable Tower Equipment and completion rewards.
A completed Normal Tower is much more useful than a Fatal Tower where you remain stuck for the entire event.
Prioritize Fatal if:
- you can consistently progress through it;
- you already have developed characters and Equipment;
- its milestone rewards are particularly valuable;
- you can reach important reward battles before the event ends.
Current Fatal Towers can contain very valuable intermediate rewards. For example, recent Fatal Tower structures on MK Mobile Base include a guaranteed random Diamond around battle 100 as well as the main reward at battle 200.
The exact reward layout differs between Towers, so check the specific Tower page rather than assuming every event uses the same milestones.
How Tower rewards work
Event Tower rewards generally come from three sources.
Standard participation rewards
These are awarded for playing battles and may be available regardless of victory or defeat.
They are random and should be treated as a bonus rather than something you can reliably farm on demand.
Boss and milestone rewards
Specific floors provide guaranteed reward types.
Depending on the Tower, these can include:
- Gold characters;
- Diamond characters;
- Rare Tower Equipment;
- Uncommon Tower Equipment;
- other special rewards.
Main completion reward
The final battle has the main reward pool for that Tower.
This can include valuable Diamond characters, Epic Equipment, Dragon Krystals or other event-specific rewards.
After completing an Event Tower, it resets and can be climbed again while the event remains active.
That is why players who refresh attempts can complete the same Tower multiple times during one rotation.

Check rewards before deciding how hard to farm
Do not spend hundreds or thousands of Souls on a Tower without first looking at what it actually offers.
On MK Mobile Base, individual Tower pages show:
- Main Rewards;
- Boss Fight rewards;
- Standard Participation rewards.
Open the Towers section, select the current Tower and compare the rewards with your account.
A Tower containing a Diamond you want and several useful Equipment pieces may justify aggressive refreshes.
Another Tower may be much less important for your collection.
Tower Equipment is extremely important
Every Event Tower has its own Equipment set.
Modern Tower sets usually contain:
- Epic Equipment;
- Rare Equipment;
- Uncommon Equipment.
These items have normal effects that can remain useful throughout the game, but they also contain special bonuses that work specifically inside their associated Tower.
The Tower-only effects commonly include large increases to:
- damage;
- maximum Health.
As Fusion increases, these bonuses can become enormous.
That is why a lower-rarity current-Tower item can sometimes improve your performance more than a generally stronger piece from another set.
You can compare the overall usefulness of individual items in the Equipment Tier List.
Do not equip Tower gear blindly
More Tower Equipment is not automatically better.
Your fighter may still need:
- block breaking;
- Power generation;
- Power cost reduction;
- resistance;
- healing;
- debuff application;
- resurrection or another defensive effect.
If replacing your block-breaker with an Uncommon Tower item means you can no longer land your basic attacks, the higher Tower damage number may not actually improve the fight.
Build around the job each character performs.
For ordinary floors, survivability and control may matter as much as raw damage.
For bosses, concentrate Tower attack bonuses on the fighter who actually deals most of your damage, while support characters can use Health or utility Equipment to stay alive.
Should you spend Dragon Krystals on Tower Equipment?
For established accounts, Tower Equipment Summons can be one of the strongest uses of Dragon Krystals.
A good Equipment card can strengthen many different characters, while another Diamond character may remain at Fusion 0 for a long time.
Tower Equipment is especially valuable when the current Tower itself is blocking your progression.
If you are considering spending DK on the current Equipment summon, compare the available pieces with the Equipment Tier List.
For a broader spending strategy, see How to Spend Dragon Krystals in MK Mobile.
Ordinary Tower fights and boss fights need different teams
Do not use one team for every floor simply because it has your three highest-stat characters.
The best ordinary Tower team and the best boss team can be completely different.
For difficult normal floors, useful strategies include:
- fast damage against susceptible teams;
- DOT pressure when the modifier and enemies allow it;
- Power control;
- Snare and tag control;
- resistance to specific debuffs;
- healing and resurrection;
- countering the modifier rather than trying to overpower it.
You can find tested starting points on the Best Teams for Towers page.
Bosses require a different approach, which is why MK Mobile Base also has a separate Best Tower Boss Teams section.
Always read the battle modifier
As Tower difficulty increases, the modifier often becomes more important than the enemy characters themselves.
A strategy that destroys one floor may completely fail on the next because the battle changes how tagging, Power, healing, damage or debuffs work.
Before every difficult battle:
- Read the modifier.
- Inspect all three opponents.
- Check their Equipment.
- Identify which enemy is actually dangerous.
- Adjust your team or Equipment if necessary.
Do not repeatedly enter the same battle with the same setup if the modifier directly counters your strategy.
A DOT team is excellent only when enemies can actually be damaged by DOTs.
Power Drain is useful only when the fight allows it to matter.
A tag rotation is useless if the modifier prevents you from controlling your tags.
Tower bosses work differently
Tower bosses have huge Health pools and are designed to require multiple attempts for many accounts.
Normally, damage dealt to a boss during a completed attempt is preserved for the next attempt.
This allows you to gradually reduce boss Health even if the timer expires.
But do not manually quit a fight expecting the game to save your damage. Play the attempt through to its normal end.
Bosses also frequently have immunities or mechanics that make strategies from ordinary floors ineffective.
For example:
- ordinary DOT strategies may not work;
- some percentage-based Health removal effects do not work on bosses;
- Power control may be restricted;
- bosses may heal;
- resurrection can force you to defeat the same target again.
Always read the boss modifier and Equipment before deciding on a strategy.
Klassic Ermac is still useful for developing accounts
One of the most useful low-investment boss tools remains Klassic Ermac.
His Soul Siphon removes 10% of the opponents' Health over 30 seconds and prevents recovery during that period.
The passive works without requiring Ermac to remain active, so even a low-Fusion copy can contribute while your stronger fighters handle the direct battle.
This does not make every boss automatically easy.
Healing, resurrection, fight mechanics and the limited number of attempts still matter.
But for a developing account without high-Fusion Tower Equipment, Klassic Ermac can provide consistent progress against extremely large Health pools.
Do not confuse Klassic Ermac with Klassic Raiden's boss interaction
Klassic Raiden is extremely powerful in ordinary fights because his tag-in removes a percentage of the active enemy's current Health.
That Health removal does not work against bosses.
This is an important example of why a character that dominates normal Tower floors is not automatically a boss killer.
Stronger boss strategies
High-investment accounts can build around more specialized boss engines.
One example featured on MK Mobile Base combines:
Rain prepares Soaked, Fujin applies Hurricane and Injustice 2 Raiden converts the setup into repeated Lightning pressure while also controlling Power.
You do not need this exact team to clear bosses.
The point is to build around a repeatable source of damage while using the other two slots to amplify it, control the boss or prevent healing.
See the full setups and alternatives on Best Tower Boss Teams.
Regeneration is one of the most dangerous boss mechanics
Raw damage is not enough if the enemy heals faster than you can make permanent progress.
Against regeneration or healing bosses, look for:
- Incurability;
- Poison when the boss and modifier allow it;
- Snare or another way to keep the target active;
- enough control to maintain your anti-healing effect;
- finishing mechanics when the boss reaches the required Health threshold.
Do not judge the attempt only by how much damage appeared on screen.
The important number is how much Health the boss has when the attempt ends.
Focus one boss when possible
When several bosses share one battle, spreading damage randomly across all three can make the fight harder.
If the mechanics allow it, focus on eliminating one target.
Removing one boss permanently gives you:
- fewer enemy passives;
- fewer dangerous Equipment effects;
- fewer tag-ins;
- a simpler fight on the following attempt.
Snare and controlled target selection are especially valuable for this reason.
However, some fights deliberately interfere with this plan through forced tags or other modifiers. Adapt to the battle rather than forcing the same boss strategy everywhere.
Brutality and Friendship can help finish bosses
Brutality and Friendship Equipment sets are useful for more than style.
When all activation requirements are satisfied, finishing mechanics can help eliminate a low-Health boss without spending another full attempt reducing the final part of their Health bar.
They should be treated as finishing tools rather than your entire damage strategy.
Do not sacrifice the core damage and control of the team just to force a finishing set onto a fighter that cannot use it effectively.
What if you are completely stuck?
First determine why you are losing.
The timer expires
You need more damage.
Try:
- more current-Tower attack Equipment;
- a stronger primary damage dealer;
- damage amplification;
- a better offensive rotation;
- removing defensive gear you no longer need.
You die too quickly
You need survivability or control.
Try:
- Tower Health Equipment;
- healing;
- resurrection;
- Shield;
- resistance;
- Power control;
- disabling dangerous enemy Specials.
The enemy keeps healing
You need anti-healing rather than more raw damage.
Look for Incurability or another mechanic that prevents the specific recovery being used.
The enemy constantly escapes
Use Snare, target manipulation or another method of controlling the tag rotation.
One modifier destroys your normal strategy
Change the strategy.
Tower progression often becomes easier once you stop treating every battle as a damage check.
Is it worth continuing a Tower you cannot finish?
Usually, yes — at least with the free attempts.
Participation rewards mean that even an account stuck before the top can gain resources and occasionally Tower Equipment.
You may also reach an important guaranteed milestone without completing floor 200.
For example, Fatal Tower battle 100 is often a major goal because current Fatal reward structures can include a guaranteed random Diamond there.
So the useful question is not:
“Can I finish the entire Fatal Tower?”
It is:
“What is the best reward milestone this account can realistically reach before the event ends?”
That is a much better way to decide whether Soul refreshes are worth using.
Tower of Time and other special Towers
Do not assume every Tower has 200 battles and a Fatal version.
Tower of Time is a notable exception.
Its current format has:
- 50 battles;
- no Fatal version;
- the standard attempt system;
- Fusion Boost for the lowest-Fusion team member;
- a wide range of fighters and modifiers;
- its own Equipment and completion rewards.
Special Towers may continue to introduce different rules in future updates.
Always check the current event information before applying the standard Normal/Fatal strategy automatically.
A practical Tower routine
When a new Tower appears:
- Open its page in the MK Mobile Towers section and check the rewards.
- Inspect its Equipment in the Equipment Tier List.
- Use free and ad attempts to judge the difficulty.
- Decide whether the account can realistically complete Normal, Fatal or only reach a useful milestone.
- Start Soul refreshes only when the additional attempts support that goal.
- Build one team for ordinary battles and a separate setup for bosses.
- Keep the current Tower's attack and Health Equipment instead of automatically replacing it with higher-rarity gear from another Tower.
- Re-check modifiers whenever a battle suddenly becomes much harder.
Common Tower mistakes
- Ignoring Event Towers because you cannot finish floor 200.
- Spending Souls on every refresh without knowing the reward goal.
- Equipping three characters purely by card rarity.
- Using the same team for normal floors and bosses.
- Ignoring low-Fusion Tower Equipment.
- Filling every Equipment slot with Tower gear and losing essential block breaking or control.
- Entering difficult fights without reading the modifier.
- Expecting ordinary DOT or percentage Health removal to work on every boss.
- Letting a regeneration boss heal during every attempt.
- Spreading damage across several bosses instead of eliminating one when possible.
- Giving up after one failed setup instead of changing characters or Equipment.
- Assuming all Event Towers use exactly the same rewards and format.
What should you focus on first?
For a new account, start with Normal Towers and use every free attempt. Do not worry if the event ends before your first completion.
Your first goals are to collect Tower Equipment, learn the modifiers and reach increasingly valuable milestones.
As the account develops, start pushing Fatal Towers and using Soul refreshes more aggressively.
Eventually the objective changes from simply surviving the Tower to completing it repeatedly, improving its Equipment set and farming the most valuable Diamond and Epic rewards before the event ends.
Use the Best Teams for Towers for ordinary battles, Best Tower Boss Teams for bosses, and the Towers section to check the exact rewards of each event.
Thank you for reading, and good luck with your MK Mobile account progression!
